We finished Gameplan, our financial series, at RPC this weekend. Timm preached in a pair of handcuffs. A few quotes from the message:
- There’s a lot of things you can do to earn a pair of these.
- Handcuffs are pervert-detectors.
- After wearing them for a while it becomes demoralizing.
- Proverbs 22:7.
- There’s only been 1 time the U.S. wasn’t in debt. Andrew Jackson was president.
- When you don’t have self control, you give control to someone else.
- How much of you r paycheck are you in control of?
- If I had a $60,000 truck, I’d have to live in it.
- Debt is more than a minor inconvenience.
- Debt is poor stewardship.
- Do you think God gave you money so Master Card could have it?
- There are essentially 2 types of people. Those who pay interest and those who earn it.
- Debt is naive.
- 12 easy payments are never easy.
- “But I got it a 0%.” – You’re still paying for it.
- Debt is stupid.
- You’re making payments on stuff you can’t find. It’s in storage or you’ve already traded it in.
- Your heavenly father loves you. The credit card company thinks you’re a number.
- Who do you want to give your financial future to?
- It takes time and effort to get out of debt.
- It will cost you $xx,xxx to get out of debt. How much will it cost you if you don’t?
Also, in the youth service, we did an impromptu altar call and 11 kids got up to accept Christ! I was floored. God wasn’t surprised a bit.

I AM SIGNED UP FOR THE SEMINAR AND I WILL BE SURE AND LET EVERYBODY KNOW THAT NO ONE IS COMPLETELY USELESS!
I WILL PROVE THAT SATURDAY AS EVEN THOUGH I FEEL TOTALLY USELESS SOMETIMES I WILL SERVE AS A PERFECTLY GOOD BAD EXAMPLE OF WHAT NOT TO DO!!!
THE COST OF GETTING OUT OF DEBT IS RARELY ALL IN MONEY! I BELIEVE THE PAIN WILL GO MUCH DEEPER THAN JUST MONEY! HOWEVER, I FEEL THE RELIEF WILL BE TREMENDOUS AND AM LOOKING FORWARD TO SATURDAY.
